My photography consists of a combination of styles, as the different parts of your day require a varying approach. I consider myself to be primarily a photojournalist, as this allows for a more fluid, less-posed feel - I'm capturing things in the moment, as they unfold, to tell the story of your day. Traditional portraiture is also essential, as formal portraits are a wonderful tradition which help tell the story of your family through the years.

The formal portrait session generally takes place in several stages. Family portraits are kept slightly more traditional, while the bridal party and Bride and Groom portraits are usually a bit more playful and contemporary. The portrait session is one of the most essential elements of your photography, so the more time which can be put aside, the more freedom we'll have to visit multiple locations and keep it fun and creative. The key is not to rush this stage so that you don't feel any added stress, as being more relaxed will translate into better images. The amount of time set aside for portraits varies according to family and wedding party size, venue and the structure of the day. Once I know the details of your event we'll work together to set aside an appropriate amount of time to achieve the images you want.

I always include a second photographer in every collection and consider this an invaluable addition to your photography. Having an additional photographer on site gives me the freedom to take more chances and get creative with different types of photographs with the confidence that the more traditional “must have” photos and angles will always be covered.

I love to travel and will gladly travel for your wedding! I am based in Boston and regularly photograph all throughout New England. I am also available (and love!) to travel within the US and internationally. Some of the places I've photographed include St Thomas, St Maarten, St Lucia and Mexico! ;-)

The average time out from the wedding that people book is 12-18 months, especially for the popular months of June, September and October. I occasionally book only a few months in advance, so its always a good idea to contact the studio to see if I'm available! If I'm not, I'm happy to recommend a few other photographers whose work I admire.  

I require a $500 deposit and signed contract to reserve your wedding date.

The balance is due ten days prior to your wedding date. During this time I will send you an updated 
invoice and a reminder email.

Yes. Zev Fisher Photography is a licensed business with full liability coverage. This coverage is 
required for photographers at most wedding venues.

All of your edited images will be posted on a password protected online image gallery within 10 days 
of your event. From here, you and your guests can view and compare images, tag favorites and order 
prints and other products directly from your favorite local photographer ;-)

The average turnaround time for a wedding album is three months from the wedding date, but this also depends a lot on you. After the wedding, you'll choose the images you'd like to include in your album and I'll create a first draft based on your selections. Once the draft is complete, I'll send you a digital proof and we can work together on revising the album until it's perfect. Once you approve the final draft and we send your book to press, the printing and binding process generally takes about 3-6 weeks.

Yes, definitely. Reading reviews are a great way for you to research all your vendors, including photography. Some of the best wedding resources are weddingwire.com and theknot.com. I encourage you to check out our reviews or contact the studio and I'll put you in touch with several past clients.

I use state of the art Canon digital cameras and lenses. All of my photographs are taken using the RAW file format, which allows for the greatest possible image quality and post processing flexibility. I also have backup cameras on site, always just a few feet away from where I’m shooting. In addition, I personally inspect, clean and repack all my equipment before each event.

Yes! All of our collections include high resolution digital negatives, which allow you to create prints 
either at home, or at your local camera store independently of the studio. While Zev Fisher  
Photography retains all copyrights to the images, a personal use license is included with your discs allowing you to create as many prints as you'd like and post your images on Facebook to your hearts content!

Image enhancement is the “post-processing” of your images in programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. With digital photography, the RAW image file directly out of the camera can appear extremely flat. The post processing of your photos brings out the very best in each image with respect to color, contrast, exposure and tone, allowing you to view your photos as they were intended to be viewed.

Even the most high quality data DVD's will only last about 8 years before the information contained within them is no longer accessible. The most effective method for backing up important data is on an optical drive, also known as an external hard drive. These drives may be purchased from your local electronics store for roughly $50. As an added precaution, I would highly suggest storing your backed-up images in an offsite location such as a safe deposit box or relative's home. You can never be too careful...and we've all heard stories of people losing data. Eek!
